FIBAA Visitation as a Starting Point for the Faculty of Psychology at Unpad to Go Global

Humas Fapsi — On the second day (20/6/23) of the international accreditation visitation, the event began with panel interviews with students and graduates. Each study program had one student and one alumnus as representatives. The topics discussed included study structure, study process, study content, student consultation and support, organization, exams, internship opportunities, overseas requirements, field visits, working conditions, administrative support, study load, involvement in decision-making, and regulation-making at the Faculty of Psychology Unpad, as well as evaluation.

The series of events on the second day were not as packed as the first day. After the interview sessions were completed and lunch was served, the next schedule was the internal panel meeting. During this session, the assessors evaluated the programs that had been conducted. While waiting, the Faculty of Psychology Unpad invited alumni and students who had represented the Faculty of Psychology UNPAD to take a tour around the building, observing the changes that had been made. As they walked around, they enthusiastically explored the facilities and even tried them out. Alumni and students were also given souvenirs as a token of appreciation.

In the afternoon, after the internal meeting was finished, a final meeting was held with Christiane Butler as the chair. This final meeting aimed to convey impressions and provide feedback and suggestions for the Faculty of Psychology Unpad. The event was then closed by Dr. rer. nat Shally Novita. The Faculty of Psychology Unpad expressed their gratitude to the assessors by presenting them with traditional Indonesian masks as souvenirs.

Although initially some members of the Faculty of Psychology Unpad who were interviewed felt nervous, the positive responses from the assessors brought a fresh breeze to them. This made them optimistic about moving forward. Mrs. Zahrotur Rusyda Hinduan, MOP., Ph.D., Psychologist, herself said that she was very pleased to see the cohesive effort of the academic community in every endeavor. This visitation also indirectly served as a reunion for some alumni who had graduated. The close relationship among the community members showed that internal harmony within the academic community was still warmly maintained. Mrs. Zahrotur was very happy with the implementation of this international accreditation. The assessors also provided many comprehensive and constructive suggestions, which Mrs. Zahrotur saw as an opportunity for the Faculty of Psychology Unpad to develop further.

The entire family of the Faculty of Psychology Unpad — from the deans, teaching staff, administrative staff, students, to alumni — participated in the series of accreditation events. Mrs. Zahrotur was also delighted to see the togetherness within the Faculty of Psychology Unpad family. Clement Eko Prasetio, S.Psi, as a representative of the students and alumni of the Faculty of Psychology Unpad, also welcomed every change and improvement happening at his alma mater. He also hoped for continuous improvements in the future. The alumni and students hope that the Faculty of Psychology Unpad will continue to advance by inviting more practitioners, striving for open science, conducting internships abroad, so that students can learn more. Mr. Denden Firman Arief, S.IP, one of the administrative staff at the Faculty of Psychology Unpad, also agreed, saying that this process is a good process that is expected to bring positive impacts while continuously enhancing what has been done. It is hoped that this process is not the end but the beginning for the Faculty of Psychology Unpad to be more beneficial and global. (H/SKN)
