Inauguration of ‘Teaching & Learning Facilities’ at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Padjadjaran

Humas Fapsi — The Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Padjadjaran, held the inauguration of ‘Teaching & Learning Facilities’ on Friday, February 24, 2023. The facilities inaugurated included the Doctoral Conference Room in Building 1, 1st Floor, Disability Ramp in the Building 2 Area, Virtual Reality Room in Building 2, 2nd Floor, Hybrid Class and Podcast Studio in Building 2, 3rd Floor, and the Canteen.

The inauguration event began with a yoga session led by instructor Fuji (a Master’s student in Psychology) in the Aula Gedung 2 R. Mar’at, Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Padjadjaran, from 8:00 to 8:45 AM WIB. This exercise session was attended by several lecturers and educational staff from the Faculty of Psychology. Several deans from other faculties also attended to enliven and participate in this event.

The first series of events was the inauguration of the Doctoral Conference Room, opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Rector of Universitas Padjadjaran. The event began with the first speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, Zahrotur Rusyda Hinduan, MOP., Ph.D., Psychologist. In her speech, she explained the journey of developing the facilities at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Padjadjaran, and the details of several upgraded facilities. She also expressed her gratitude to the university leadership, partners from the Unpad Psychology Center who helped develop the Doctoral Conference Room, PT. Faxtor Indonesia for donating the Virtual Reality Laboratory, the Chairman of IKAPSI, and the academic community of the Faculty of Psychology. This was followed by a second speech by the Rector of Universitas Padjadjaran, Prof. Dr. Rina Indiastuti, S.E., MSIE. She expressed her hope that with the development of the facilities at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Padjadjaran, the faculty will gain more international recognition and increase its productivity in publications.

The second event was the inauguration of the disability ramp, one of the faculty’s highlights, which provides facilities for individuals with disabilities, including a parking area and pathways located in Building 2, R. Ma’rat.

The third event was the inauguration of the virtual reality room located on the 2nd Floor of Building 2. The virtual reality room was donated by Faxtor Indonesia and is equipped with excellent facilities. The fourth event was the inauguration of the podcast room and studio, introduced with an explanation of the facilities by Whisnu Yudiana S.Psi., M.Psi., Psychologist, whose development involved collaboration with partners from the Netherlands. The facilities include a virtual camera that supports collaboration with international universities through virtual classes.

The fifth event was the inauguration of the Faculty of Psychology’s canteen, opened with a speech by Dr. Afra Hafny Noer, M.Sc., Psychologist. The canteen facility was developed to enhance the comfort of students outside academic activities. Unlike the previous inaugurations, the canteen inauguration was also enlivened with live music performed by students from the Faculty of Psychology.

The event concluded with a communal meal and group photo with guests, lecturers, and educational staff of the Faculty of Psychology. The inauguration of the new facilities at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Padjadjaran, garnered high enthusiasm, with students of the Faculty of Psychology attending to witness the inauguration. With the development of these facilities, it is hoped that both student and faculty interest and achievements will increase, reaching international levels. (SKN/H)
