On Thursday, May 30, 2024, twenty students and four lecturers from the Child and Family Psychology Club of Universiti Malaysia Sabah visited the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Padjadjaran (Fapsi Unpad). The Universiti Malaysia Sabah delegation arrived at Fapsi at 8:15 AM, greeted by three faculty representatives from Fapsi Unpad and seven students from BEM Fapsi Unpad who guided the event.
The visit began with an opening, welcome remarks, and a presentation of information about Fapsi Unpad. This first activity took place in the Fapsi Unpad Senate Room. In general, the information presented covered topics such as postgraduate admissions for the master’s program at Fapsi Unpad, collaboration programs with student organizations, an introduction to the programs available at Fapsi Unpad, and discussions on elective courses that could be attended.
After the first activity, the visit continued with an exchange of souvenirs in the form of plaques between the representatives of Fapsi Unpad and Universiti Malaysia Sabah. Following the souvenir exchange, the visitors were taken on a tour of Unpad, culminating in a photo session in front of the Rectorate building, followed by a tour of Fapsi Unpad. The Universiti Malaysia Sabah group was then directed to have lunch at one of the Fapsi Unpad canteens, Dinain Canteen. After lunch, the event concluded with a photo session and distribution of souvenirs in the Fapsi Unpad Conference Room. The visit ended around 12:30 PM.
One of the visiting students expressed great joy at being able to participate in this visit, as the preparation for the event took more than a year and faced many rejections when seeking sponsorship.
“I hope that you guys will never give up on studying and pursue your dreams, because look at us, this is our dream and here we are,” he said to all the psychology students worldwide when asked to say a few words by a student representative of BEM Fapsi Unpad.
With the successful completion of this official visit, it is hoped that the visiting students have gained a broader perspective on their future educational paths and that Fapsi Unpad can foster stronger relationships with Universiti Malaysia Sabah.
