Professional Psychology Program
Following Article 12 of Law No. 23 of 2022 concerning Education and Psychological Services, the Professional Psychology Education Study Program - Professional Program is a professional psychology education level that prepares students to enter the professional world as General Psychologists, who have the authority to carry out promotional actions (strengthening, promoting, developing, building) for the development of personal potential as well as preventive and curative actions to overcome psychological problems and psychological disorders in life following conditions and improve the psychological well-being of service users. Graduates are awarded the title of Psychologist (Psi.) and the designation of Psychologist.
To produce General Psychologists who:
- Demonstrate the ability to administer, analyze, and interpret assessment data in individual and group psychological practice services by applicable standards, ethics, and laws.
- Exhibit proficiency in planning, implementing, and evaluating psychological interventions by applicable standards, ethics, and laws in individual and group psychological practice services.
- Effectively communicate assessment and intervention findings orally and in writing to individual and group psychological practice service users by applicable standards, ethics, and laws.
- Establishing national and international collaborations for research and knowledge application with a focus on human well-being.
- Possess the ability to manage oneself and professional relationships with service users, colleagues, supervisors, other professions, and other stakeholders involved in psychological practice services by applicable standards, ethics, and laws.
- Demonstrate integrity in the practice and development of their scientific knowledge.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of fundamental psychological knowledge, encompassing concepts and theories, as a foundation for diagnosing and interpreting human behavior (individual, group, or community) within a psychodiagnostic framework.
- Grasp and master the fundamental principles of psychological assessment and intervention. Exhibit the ability to employ psychological assessment and intervention methods skillfully.
- Develop sensitivity and expertise in observing, analyzing, evaluating, formulating, and explaining biopsychosocial issues that arise in human life.
Curriculum
The Internship for Professional Psychology (LPPPU) will be conducted at various institutions in collaboration with the Faculty of Psychology, Unpad, including Hospitals, Community health centers, Psychology bureaus, Educational institutions, Student mental health services units in higher education institutions, Profit and non-profit organizations Industries, Government agencies, Community groups, and NGOs.
Students will undergo the General Psychologist Professional Competency Exam (UKPPU) at the end of their studies. This competency exam involves internal examiners from the study program and external examiners from the Indonesian Psychological Association (HIMPSI).
Career
Graduates of the Professional Psychology Education Study Program - Professional Program are qualified to practice as General Psychologists and may pursue further education in Specialized Programs.
Lecturer
The faculty for this program consists of lecturers who are Psychologists with a Master's degree in Psychology, a Psychologist's Title Letter (SSP), a Psychologist's Practice Permit (SIPP), a Certificate of Registration (STR), and a minimum of three (three) years of practical experience as Psychologists.
